
Darwin City Deal
The Darwin City Deal is a ten year agreement between the Australian and Northern Territory Governments and the City of Darwin.
The Deal outlines initiatives to position Darwin as a vibrant and liveable tropical city, supported by a growing population and a diverse economy.
Key initiatives in the deal include:
- An education and community precinct, with a new Charles Darwin University campus that will attract international students and bring vibrancy to the CBD
- Redevelopment of Civic and State Square to create a cooler, greener precinct that will provide more space for events and festivals
- An Urban Living Lab that will research and develop tropical heat mitigation measures and climate-appropriate design
- Preservation and promotion of Larrakia culture through a host program and facilitation of a Larrakia Cultural Centre
