Darwin City Deal
The Darwin City Deal is a ten year agreement between the Australian and Northern Territory Governments and the City of Darwin.
The Deal outlines initiatives to create a vibrant and liveable tropical city, with a growing population and a diverse economy.
Key initiatives in the deal include:
- An education and community precinct, with a new Charles Darwin University campus.
- Redevelopment of Civic and State Square to create a cooler, greener space for events and festivals
- An Urban Living Lab to research and develop tropical heat mitigation measures and design guidelines.
- Preservation and promotion of Larrakia culture through a host program and Cultural Centre
