Darwin Christmas Pageant: Wrap-up
Community spirit was on full display at the Darwin Christmas Pageant on Saturday 16 November
We were absolutely blown away by the creativity and effort that community groups, schools, not-for-profits, sporting clubs, religious groups and organisations all put into their floats this year! There were 52 floats that walked, danced and paraded through the city streets. This year also a record number of floats and schools participating in the Pageant – a testament to the growing enthusiasm for this beloved community event.
Some float participants chose to lean into the “Very Darwin” theme by showcasing our amazing lifestyle, featuring many fishing themed floats and even special guests from the Territory Wildlife Park. Other floats were more traditional, featuring cheeky elves, dashing reindeers, frosty snowmen and beautiful Christmas Trees.
A massive congratulations to this year’s pageant winners: Bees Creek Primary School, winning Best Walking Float, and Woodroffe Primary School, taking home Best Vehicle Float.
After the parade there were special performances from the incredible Baby Ballerinas and talented Shalom Kaa, before the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree.
We loved every moment from this year’s pageant and are thrilled that the festive season has officially arrived in Darwin!
