Darwin City offers a range of free fitness activities to get your heart pumping!

Bicentennial Park

Home to the Darwin Cenotaph, Bicentennial Park is one of the most popular green spaces in the CBD. Its lush green surrounds overlook the harbour creating picturesque views. Here you can find free exercise equipment including:

  • Magnetic bells for safe and functional free weight-training
  • Multi Net
  • Suspension Trainer
  • 3 different height steps
  • Surface markings and double-sided instructional signage

Darwin Waterfront

Enjoy nine state-of-the-art KOMPAN fitness bikes, located on the grass area facing the Waterfront outside of the Darwin Convention Centre, combine advanced technology and features associated with indoor exercise bikes, with durable outdoor design. The Beach is also a perfect place to swim laps safely without the fear of crocodiles, stingers and other dangerous marine animals. It’s free to use and is patrolled by lifeguards from 9am-6pm every day.

If you’re like countless others, you might find that you are more committed to your fitness when you’re in a group setting. Lucky for us, Darwin City has many different options for group fitness.

ARC Fitness CBD

Welcome to ARC Fitness CBD – the new gym in town!

ARC CBD opened in late 2023, and already has a strong membership of like-minded people. The CBD gym is the sister gym of the already successful ARC Fitness Yarrawonga. Owner, Ange, had this to say: "Through ARC Fitness, I strive to empower healthy habits and enable everyone to live by our motto - Adapt. Reset. Conqure".

IFitness

Located in the heart of Darwin, this club will blow you away as soon as you step through the door. 

The central location offers a large free weights are, top of the range cardio equipment and a functional training area with monkey bars, resistance bands, kettlebells and more. Plus it’s open 24/7 – so you have the flexibility to train whenever suits you.
